Federal Incentives

 

The federal government provides tax credits for individuals and businesses. For a solar thermal project to qualify for the credit, the components must meet certain specifications. Liquid Solar Systems works only with SRCC-approved products that meet this criteria.

  • Residential Solar and Fuel Cell Tax Credit
  • Through 2016, homeowners can receive a 30 percent federal tax credit for installing a residential solar thermal system.

  • Business Energy Tax Credit
  • Commercial installations are eligible for a tax credit equal to 30% of the cost of the solar thermal system.

Incentives in Montana

There is currently one tax credit program in the state of Montana for solar thermal installations

  • Tax credits for individuals installing nonfossil forms of generation
  • Montana offers tax credits up to $500 for residential solar thermal installations.
